After two long days of blitz negotiations, the UCCO-SACC-CSN bargaining committee has reached an agreement-in-principle to renew our collective agreement with the Treasury Board of Canada.
As part of the tentative agreement we are unable to disclose details before 5 pm, August 16.
Compromises on both sides and hard bargaining that lasted late into the evenings of July 22 and 23 cleared the remaining hurdles we needed to reach a deal. We intend to present the tentative agreement to members during general assemblies before the end of August.
Exact scheduling details will be communicated to members once they have been worked out. The membership will have the opportunity to examine, debate and vote on the agreement at this time.
The UCCO-SACC-CSN executive committee recommends that members accept the agreement which contains significant improvements to our working conditions despite a difficult political and economic environment.
The executive committee salutes the memberships extraordinary participation in union mobilization activities over the last 38 months of negotiations. Our members discipline and resolve during the unions numerous pressure tactics made a solid impact on the employer and the final outcome of these negotiations.
Please stay tuned for the date and times of your general assembly. It is crucial that as many members as possible become familiar with the agreement and, above all, participate in the ratification vote.
Securing Our Future,
Your national bargaining committee
