RV Vigils 2005

October 2005 Motorhome Vigils

Pictures of our two Motorhome vigils that were conducted on October 11, 205 in Edmonton and again in Winnipeg on October 19th, are attached below. Although media attention was plentiful for both events, perhaps our event outside Mr. Alcock's home was the most abundant due to the public sympathy pleas by Alcock through his lies to the media about our presence outside his home. If you all recall, Mr. Alcock countered with comments of "cowards and thugs", while his political ally, the alleged Pro-Labor party member, Mr. Pat Martin of the NDP advanced his own agenda on our cause by offering the same insulting comments about our actions on October 19th in Winnipeg. Everyone should keep in mind that absolutely no contact was made with the Alcock family during their brief 15 minute stay at their home, while the police waited outside and spoke to us and  Mrs. Alcock and the kids packed their bags and dog into their van and drove away. For an individual as educated and high profile as Mr. Alcock, it seem lies and exaggeration about the peaceful vigil held outside his empty home are perhaps the only way he can deflect blame away from himself and his fellow Liberals for the 43 months of disrespect and ignorance towards our members, our Union and our issues.

Before Mr. Alcock and his counterparts should render judgement and slander on Federal Correctional Officers, perhaps they should first ask Why we have to resort to such job actions?
